Choices

We all make choices, but groupthink pervades. Especially amongst millennials, where fitting in is a way of life. In the sixties you let your freak flag fly, today you wanna be just like everybody else. We like to choose the same as other people.

White dominates – There is no colour! Bathroom suites today are only white, we had primrose, blue, turquoise, pink, pampas (green). If you were daring you could go for avocado, penthouse red, royal blue, bali brown and sepia. What does everybody put with white - Grey. How boring!! Floor tiles - lets make them look like concrete - why bother to tile the floor?

So what does it take to go down the other path, choose something different. You can buy tiles from the internet retailers (Tile Mountain, Walls & Floors, Lovely Tiles etc.) – they all offer pretty much the same tiles – white or grey all at very good prices, good service with free samples but what if you want something different?

Manufacturers all work on computer models – if it is not selling then the colours that don’t sell get discontinued so it’s hard to find things different when the only things that sell are grey and white.

At Collinsons we spend a lot of time trying to find different and even have some old stuff that’s also not the just grey (although we’ve got a lot of grey too! Check out the website or better still visit the showroom.

Just stand up and be different!
